What is CDF Skills Development Bursary?

The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) was introduced in 1995 as a means to encourage local development in rural and urban communities across Zambia. In line with the government policy of making education accessible to everyone, the government is providing financial support to vulnerable students in order to enable them access skills training through CDF bursary. The government is further encouraging more youths in the country to take advantage of the skills development bursaries and enroll into various TEVETA accredited colleges and skills training centers.

What is the eligibility criteria for CDF Skills Development Bursary?

CDF guidelines are formulated by the Ministry of local government and rural development. The following is the eligibility criteria for CDF Skills Development Bursary

  • The bursary is for students in secondary and tertiary institutions
  • Applicants MUST be Zambian with green national registration card
  • MUST be resident of the constituency they intent to apply.
  • Must be in possession of an admission letter/ acceptance letter from the college
  • The college or training center MUST be accredited by TEVETA. Check the link below a full list of TEVETA accredited institutions . List of registered institutions as at 24 February 2023
  • Must be aged between 16 and 35 years
  • Entrepreneurs who need upskilling or reskilling are also considered

Step by step guide on how to apply for CDF bursary.

STEP 1

 Apply to any TEVETA accredited institution of your choice in your area for a course of your choice. Once you are offered a place, then proceed to step two.

STEP 2

Obtain the CDF bursary application form 2023 Pdf from the council, community development, social welfare office or the Member of Parliaments office.

The form must be typed or filled in clear handwriting

STEP 3

Attach your admission letter and all other required documents and submit your application to the ward development committee.
